YOUR FIRST VISIT

A quick guide to your first time at the archery range — what to expect, how to prepare, and how to get started at Gotham Archery NYC.

Step 01

Book an Archery Intro Class

Your first arrow starts here. All first-time archers begin with our Introductory Archery Class, where you’ll learn safety, basics, and range rules. It’s required before renting lanes or equipment. Plus it’s a lot of fun. Book your spot online to get started.

Step 02

Sign a Waiver & Bring ID

Paperwork first, arrows second. Once you book your class, we’ll email you a link to complete the waiver in advance. Please bring a valid photo ID and plan to arrive about 15 minutes early so check-in is smooth and stress-free.

Step 03

Know our Range Policies

A little heads-up goes a long way. Take a moment to review our policies before your visit, it keeps classes running smoothly, ensures everyone gets their turn, and lets you focus on having fun.

Age requirements:
- Archers must be at least 10 years old to participate.
- Archers under 18 must have a parent or guardian present for the duration of the class.
- Children under 10 are welcome to wait in the lounge but may not participate. A dedicated supervising adult must remain with them at all times – that adult may not also be shooting. A waiver is required for anyone entering the range, including non-participating children.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes early. We combine small groups for class, so late arrivals affect everyone. Arriving after the start time may result in a shortened session or forfeiture of your spot per our lateness policy.

Lateness and cancellation policy
- No refunds are offered for any classes.
- Rescheduling is available with more than 24 hours notice, subject to a $10 fee per person.
- Rescheduled classes must be used within 6 months of the original date or they are forfeited.
- Classes cannot be rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice.
- No-shows and late arrivals will not receive credits, reschedules, or refunds. Late arrivals disrupt instruction and range safety and will be treated as no-shows.

Step 04

Take the Intro Class

This is where it all comes together. Our instructors will guide you through your first shots, help you find your rhythm, and make sure you feel comfortable on the line. Feel free to capture your first arrows with photos or videos, it’s all part of enjoying the moment and seeing how far you’ve come. No experience is needed — we provide all the equipment and guide you every step of the way.

Step 05

Come Back & Keep Shooting

Once you’ve completed the Intro Class, the range is yours. Book lane rentals, try intermediate classes, join a league, or bring friends along. Loved your first time?
